Fox Class Victorians Topic
Year 5 and 6 have been enjoying learning about the Victorians. They have visited the Records Office in Ipswich, called The Hold. Here, they learnt about how historians use archives and they handled some documents about Occold from the Victorian times.
Fox Class put on their own exhibition about what life was like in Victorian Occold. They researched our school and education, the people and buildings of our village, the occupations that people had and they pieced together the (true) life of a man called Walter Cooke using census and prison records.
The children even became Victorians for a week to really immerse themselves in this topic and to understand what life was like for Victorian children.
